Merman and Ava competing in Open Show Jumping at the TLEC Grand Opening Show!
Can't quite see the entry number because of the angle, but it's 544
Merman had never shown at this height before. Although Hannah knew that he could do it, she was still a little bit anxious about it.
Their newest rider, Ava, would be showing him today and she had been schooling him at this height for the past few weeks at home.
Hannah and Caroline watch from the sidelines as Merman and Ava began the opening circle. Megan sat in the trailer sulking; it was usually her job to ride Merman. It made her jealous that Ava was taking her place but Hannah assured her it was just for this one show.
Hannah had a lot of faith in Merman and she knew he was up for the task but she couldn't help holding her breath as the pair approached the first fence. Merman rocked back onto his hind legs and leapt through the air. He tucked his legs tight under him and cleared the jump with ease.
Hannah exhaled feeling much better about the course. Merman continued in this fashion soaring over each obstacle that they encountered.
They finished the course with great time and Hannah wondered why she had ever doubted him.
I almost gave up on this, and tried one more time with the shading, and finally I'm happy with it!!
