Surprises

New portion of my titanic story! This was actually the first one I did!


_{Penelope sat on the wall of the garden, waiting for her husband. The young couple had just been married, and were off to their honeymoon soon. The sound of soft footsteps on grass turned her head, she shook it gently, her curled hair falling to the side.
“Hello Andrew,” She said, smiling up at him.
“Penelope,” He returned, not looking at her.
“What is it dear?” She asked, her brow furrowing in concern.
“Our voyage has been cancelled, unfortunately,” He explained.
“Oh no, the Olympic, right?” Andrew nodded in confirmation, “How are we supposed to get to New York in time? What happened to the ship?” She asked.
“It seems they have some small repairs to do, but they’ve put us on another crossing. Titanic, the world’s largest liner” He read, looking down at the advertisement and tickets.
“When does it leave?” She asked. Andrew turned the ticket over.
“The tenth of April. We’ll end up getting to New York two days early, according to their estimate,” He said.
“Well there’s no problem with that!” Penelope exclaimed, “We’ll just get a hotel room for a night or two. That’ll be fun,”
Andrew nodded. He was always a quiet man, but the words that he did say carried quite a bit of weight.
Penelope reached for his hand. “I can’t wait,” She said, grinning at him. He smiled back lightly.
“I must admit,” He began, laughter in his eyes, “I’m quite excited myself.” He sat down next to her and placed his hand on her knee. He admired her for her lighthearted attitude, her fearlessness. She had such a soft, sweet face, and a musical voice; you’d be shocked at the things she said. Luckily she had some proper manners and expressed her more riveting ideas only in the company of those she trusted. Penelope really was the perfect match for Andrew, they balanced each other out quite nicely.}
